did you find that old bias with rim guard that kevin and I left on your front stoop?
kevin and Ihave been collecting what we need for the lift on his we've got a set of 1993 previa 4wd rear springs, 1980 ford t-bird rear shocks. For the front some coil boosters and 2" aluminum strut spacers should be good to go as soon as we find some 14" rims for the new snowy's
We will let you know what it looks like for the rear spring fitment............
Awesome!!! I love the pinstriping!!! What light truck mud terrain tires are you running? Where are the wheels from? Also, why on earth would anyone use non-Toyota shocks????

Replace the shocks and you will discover the reason...

My point is: Why would you use POS Ford shocks for that thing? You should go about KYB, Koni, and more Japanese-branded shocks and Bilstein, Monroe, Rancho, Rough Country, etc...
From experience rough country has a problem with.... taking a beating. their basically trash. But hey, maybe the t-bird ones were what he could get at the time, if it was cheap and they work, why not! hah

Ya its nice stock pinstriping. I am running some real nice old bias plys, they are 7.00/13 and are on some rims that my dad had layin around. Price was right . He used the shocks cuz he had them laying around, and they just happened to fit, with some slight modding.
Ya, you hit hte nail on the head. the T-bird shocks just happened to be sitting in front of us when we were doing the swap so it just made sense. Plus the t-bird shocks have 2+ inches of full extension on the stock tercel shocks with basiclly the same compressed lenght. So they happened to work perfectly. Oh! and the ride, waaay better than stock even w/o the rear sway bar, the ride is smooth and the handling is just as good even with the extra hight.
Thanks GTSsportcoupe for one of the most enjoyable cars I have ever owned!

They are a Monroe Shock I state that they are from a 1980 ford T-Bird so that mouth breathers have a vehicle reference when they walk into the parts store. These same shocks used to be in the front of my 85 toyota pickup, I used them as a cheap solution when I made my own lift. Sometimes you have to think outside of the box to accomplish things..................
I have these on the back of mine...they have a longer travel...sway bar still installed. I don't have air in them since the tubing crapped out on a camping trip. There is a way to put the tubing to the back though...won't rub on the tire that way.

Well havent posted for a while, so heres an update. Popped the motor in the gold tercel, and picked up a purple sr5 about two mounts ago for $50 buck and it needed a bit o work. Just after I got the purple one going, I found a motor for the gold one. So now its time to fix the gold one to. Will post pics of the new one later.
So now, i have fixed the purple one I had, it needed alot of work. Now I have sold it to barto, and he hasent wasted any time modding it up. I have a motor in the gold one now to, and am toying with an idea for it. I am sure barto will have pics of his soon
