I finally got around to putting on the new roof rack and lights.
I got some gutter racks from Proline (~$50) and put a Rola roof top basket with extension on it. I threw some Canadian Tire lights on the front and some ricer lights on the back. I haven't hooked up the lights (-40 is too cold for stuff like that .) but I will do that in the spring.
Now i just need to fix that hood and the rust

I guess it exaggerated a little. It was -42 at 8am and then it warmed up to -15 in the pm when I was doing my work. There is tons of sun up here in the winter which makes up for some of the cold. I do lots of field work so I have a fire-proof snowsuit, winter boots, and a hardhat liner to keep me warm. I don't work past -30 unless I get to sit in a truck and supervise .

They are from a 91-95 escort. They aren't GT rims though, just the regular sedan ones (LX?). The GT rims will fit, they look super nice and are lightweight. There is a list of cars somewhere that have the exact same bolt pattern/off-set as our Tercels. If you live in a bigger city then you could get some nice cheap rims (The other ones that I liked were from a Kia Spectra or something like that) I am going to have to clean my rusted brakes up becuase they are visible now .

The 14" Escort steel and now the alum rims fit real well as far as offset and the hub...plus are easy to find...many Escorts were sold. The GT rims were 15"...best used with 60 series?

Nice Rack!
If your planning on carrying more than 75lbs using the extension you might wanna put another bar and towers in the middle. I have the Thule megaload warrior rack w/ extension and NEED 3 bars to carry anything or weight. The rear rain gutters can shear off quite easily if the rack isn't supported right.
I would not recommend more than 300lbs on the roof BTW.
