Driveline Carrier Bearing

Has anyone found a place that sells driveline carrier bearings for our beloved Tercels at a reasonable price?

I get mine from Pull-a-part. They rare go bad, so uses ones are a safe bet, and cheap from the wrecking yard.

I've gone thru 3 used ones over the past two years. I just want to buy a new one for under two hundred bucks that'll last another 200K.

AutoZone, Advance, etc all show them, from $144 to $178 (!). Anchor and National brands and others. Apparently other Toys used the same mount.
Toy OE from Butler in Indy is $202 - originally $270.

Sounds like an out of balance drive shaft...the center bearing doesn't seem to be a frequent problem?

I'm gonna try AutoZone. I think I get a AAA discount there. Schucks Part # is not the correct bearing setup. Napa doesn't carry it and it's an F class part from Toyota btw.

That's what I thought last summer, but Driveshafts NW gave both of them a thumbs up, lubed the universal joints and sent me on my way. They offered to sell me a Toy-Sport carrier bearing for $540 plus tax. Been doin the Pull-a-Part thing till now.

A F Class part from Toyota basically means they have a part # in the system but good luck finding any warehouse with it actually in stock. About a step away from becoming a dropped part #.
Or as my Toyota parts guy and good friend says......"Sorry your F.....D" look for aftermarket.

Sometimes it seams that Asin or another company still produces and offers a particular part. They were the original OEM manufacturer 20 plus years ago but Toyota has decided to discontinue it none the less.

Just how they reference it I guess.

Auto Zone had an issue with the part. What came was not a carrier bearing, but instead some type of axle bearing. They apologized and are attempting to track down the correct part. The even gave me a 20% off coupon for future purchases. Nice bit of effort on there part. Not something I've seen at Schucks. So Saturday I'll go back in and see what they came up with.

They never got my carrier bearing in. I got full credit back and still have a 20% off coupon. I'll deal with it when another one goes later.

I'd just replace the whole driveshaft...front to back....used. You've got alignment or balance problems?
