Hello and thanks for dropping in! :D

I was recommended by a friendly Tercel owner I met fortuitously in Crested Butte which is my new home as well.

I purchased a silver 1984 Toyota Tercel SR5 with only 122,000 miles on it!

Sadly I decided to take it up Gothic Road to Schofield Pass and crossed an icy stream that was way bigger than expected. Let's just say I'm happy the Tercel got me out of that situation safely because it was one hell of stream crossing. I will be posting on this in the repair part of the forums...look for my post there.

Photos will come soon. It has a HAC box and was running great. One HELL of a tough vehicle and the EL on it is amazing. Gotta love my baby and I'm intent on restoring her to initial glory. I've had her upwards of 11.5, maybe even 12k before she stalled out. Way better than my girlfriends Outback for the snow and offroading, just between us that is. ;)

Cheers,
Michael

I hope you meant elevations and not revolutions!

I've been up in those Colorado passes with different vehicles...nothing has stalled...but some get pretty weak in the knees for sure. I remember camping for a few days up in one pass...had a cat and a dog with me...both were breathing pretty fast...and I wasn't moving real fast either. Did see a guy climbing up the mountain behind where I camped...so some could handle it OK.
Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.

Well if you're ever in the area during spring/summer/fall you can drive up the end of Cement Creek Road until it splits. To the right is a dead end where they are reforesting. To the left goes up another 300 yards or so. Sadly I don't know the exact altitude she stalled out. I do know that I was very high up probably not 12 but definately over 11.

I would love to do Reno Divide off Cement Creek Rd. to Taylor Res.. but I think it will have to wait till next year.
