radiator fan switch

Post by warbstrd »

My temp guage always sits between 1/4 and 1/2 . Sitting in traffic (due to an accident) it went up almost to red and idiot light came on turnes on the heater full blast and it dropped. There is no fluid in the resevior, but radiator was full (checked it after it sat for a few hours). What I did was I disconnected the fan connector at bottom of rad. and fan worked, reconnected the switch and no fan, this was done when the temp guage read 3/4 so the fan should have been running. Does this mean the sensor on the radiator is bad?

You're correct, same thing happened to me. Goto a junkyard and get it. 5 bucks tops.
