Okay, so now that the engine is sorted out and all the little bits are back to working together, I find I still have an occasional bog at low speed and sometimes it overfuels at idle, (which could of course be as simple as accelerator pump + needle/seat, then again...)
Down side, is there is still 325k on the body, throttle shafts, solenoids.....
ANARCHIST (in another post that I accidently hijacked), you mentioned that US Toy dealers are selling factory carb at $615 brand new. I am curious as to what that carb is. My local dealer (who, by the way, has been top notch) has indeed quoted me $1400.
Big question is, what is the difference. When I look at my FSM, I see that Canada Auto's and US cars are all same. But Canada MT cars have their very own little section and have different pollution controls... Hell, I don't even have on O2 sensor.
If the US carb is the same and it is the externals that differ, might be worth considering, then again, if it is a different beast, that might explain the extreme price disparity.
It is awfully tempting to bolt on a factory replacement. No thinking, no modifying, no friggin around, but then I think about how much beer I can buy for $1400 .................

While my Republican friends swear it is an almost-anagram for ANARCHIST and my more religious friends insist it is an almost-anagram for ANTICHRIST, my nom de T4WD is actually ARCHINSTL.
Anyway, check out this recent link for carb info - http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=3939 - it seems that I made a similar post for a Canadian member a couple of months ago - do a Search using carburetor - I'd also contact National for info.
My impression was that the US and CA carbs are the same, but the diffs are items beyond the carbs...

Thanks and my apologies on the handle. Freudian slip, perhaps.
Checked rockauto but at I am probably better off doing my own. (no core, no shipping, no UPS annoyance charges, no one else to blame..)
In a past life, I was a Suzuki parts manager and I remember the Forsa'a had 2 different listings for std/auto. We used to rebuilt them and the internals were different (jetting, solenoids, forget what else, it was a long time ago). But that was my concern.
I suppose I can have my parts guy check the #'s between the auto/std CDA cars, If they are the same # then I can see if he can make a phone call for improved pricing. Also, if there are internal differences then getting a US spec rebuilt isn't going to solve the problem either. Hmmmm.
I will let you know what happens.
