Speedometer, Odometer, and Fuel gauge not working

Post by Chapelle »

Hello,

I have recently purchased an '85 Tercel wagon. It is a rather nice example, it has no rust! One of the previous owners has painted over the whole car with brown paint with a paint brush, though. Apparently it is a rare model, a leatherneck. I can see these letters written on the side under the paint. I live in Canada and appraently this model only comes from the states, it's in miles, so I guess that its true. Anyways, I have a problem with the Speedometer, Odometer, and Fuel gauge. They don't work at all. The rev counter works and the temp gauge on the left side, I wonder if it is a loose connection or something. Has anybody else encountered a problem of this nature? Any thoughts are welcome. Thank you.

That is weird. Most of the gauges work on a fuse(besides the speedo). Defrost, tach, temp and fuel gauge, some of the warning lights all work on a 7.5 fuse. So try replacing your fuses, the ones that're blown anyway.

Otherwise it's a connection.
