Front shocks: Monroe sensa trac cartridges 72867 x 2
Front Springs: Moog CC212 w/o A/C x 1
Moog CC214 w/ A/C x 1
Rear Air Shocks: Monroe MA720? x 1 Im sure, but not 100%

The springs and shocks lifted the front of me and my brothers cars at min. 2"

the Air shocks gave me like 3" in the back give or take depending on how much air you put in it.. mine has a bit of a rake to it (hotrod style)

the front is all stock components.. the springs that moog makes jare stock replacments but are "heavy duty" giving a bit of lift from stock to the car, I like it because nothing is modified or added.. its all stock but a bit lifted. The rear shocks I found myself by finding the specs and mounting types of the stock rear shocks and looking in Monroes air shock listings. Other then running air lines, they also bolt to the factory positions, so therefor is a solid lift.. now take that and add some bigger tires and you got some pretty decent clearence for off road!

With the rear air shocks.. go to a parts store, ask for the MA720's and get them to physically check the stock shock to the air shocks to double check that number I gave is right.

A note on the front end shtuff:
Do a Search for KYB and the OE bushings' part numbers with moi as the author.

I used the AutoZone/DuraLast front springs - 212 shown for w/ and w/o AC; I got the 212 type.
When installed (from a post):
One thing - with the new springs/strut inserts, the car now sits approximately 1 1/2" higher at the front control arm measuring point; LOTS of space between the tire and fender lip. The FSM spec at the control arm bolt is 235mm, my old was about 200mm, and the new is about 238mm, or just above the OE . That is an approximate measurement, as it's on a gravel driveway. I think the headlights' aiming will be a lot better now!
The 13"s look kinda wimpy now.

I've got the MA700's on my car. Problem I found is that the air line fitting on the shock CAN rub on the sidewall of the tire off road causing the air to vamoose. Somebody managed to turn the fitting inside the shock by I guess hammering a low spot in the sheet metal. The MA700's do allow longer shock extension....more off road flex.

currently I'm using 4 front jeep cherokee springs to lift my tercel, cut to fit of course. Stock shocks/strut inserts at the moment, pretty decent lift running 195/75/14 tires.

Once you jack it, it'd be nice to have bigger tires. Then lower gears. I wouldn't do all this with a highway car, but has anyone changed out the differentials to a lower ratio? Even with my stock all-rounder, I've always wanted to make rear wheel drive default rather than front. Anyone else try? My pony cars spoiled me. Gotsta kick the tail out when bangin through the turns.

Hmmm interesting.. havent looked at mine in awhile, but I do offroad my car and havent had any problems at all with the tire rubbing.. I did smash a curb and my axel shifted all the way over where the tire was rubbing the inner fender, but the air shock was fine.. although the shock probably moved over with the axel.

Pedders makes a 20mm lift spring I believe. Not much, but it'd help on the way up. Not to mention your factory coils are probably sagging a little bit.

All right, now that it is nice outside I can get around to installing some new shocks and springs! I can't wait as i want to give it a small lift so as I can be seen amongst the huge trucks :).

I think that I want the products that ptothej used but I am unsure on the quantities I should be getting. I was a little confused by what he has listed so i thought I would go for some clarification.

So as I understand it this is what I need to get. For the front shocks I need to get a set of the Monroe sensa trac cartridges 72867 (sold as pairs) and for the springs, a set of the Moog CC212 as I don't have air conditioning (they are sold as pairs). And for the rear springs I need another set of Moog CC212 and for the shocks, a set of Monroe MA700-somethings. I looked and found 700's like takza, but there are also 730's and 750's.

Has anyone tried installing the KYB GR2 rear struts (I am assuming that those are the same as shocks)? I saw that the village elder ordered some but that was it. Also if anyone knows of a better way to do things or of any other deals let me know. Keep in mind that I am in Canada so ones with free shipping are preferred. And ptothej, I see you live in the 'loops, where did you get your stuff? NAPA?

And once I get everything together I am sure that I will have some install questions. I have been reading the FSM and it looks straight-forward (famous last words I know).

Thanks everyone!

Let us know if the 212s fit the rear - they are not supposed to be correct for the 4WD; in fact, rear springs are not supposed to be available anywhere for the 4WD, save for the Pedders from Australia (or their CO vendor-Typrus got some of those).

One thing with fitting the 212s to the strut mount "cap;" their o/s diameter is larger than the OEs and they stick out around the cap. Kinda like trying to fit a 5/8" peg into a 4/8" hole...
I was apprehensive at first, but upon release of the compression, they settled into the cap nicely, much to my surprise.
I had pix of this seeming anomaly, but deleted them in error.
The coils are also thicker and longer than the OE and have about a half twist or so "more of a coil," so it took a lot more effort to compress the 212 springs - glad I had the HF clamshell compressor!

I used all KYB for the front stuff - numbers in the Parts Forum. You might check Shock Warehouse in FL - it was free freight last Fall, but dunno to Canada. http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=3209

Don't forget to check the swaybar and its bushings! ! !
