Possessed Speedo

Post by scotisha »

Hey,

So when it is really cold out (-20ish C) the speedo makes a whirling sound and spins around past the max speed and bounces off that nub when I am reving the engine. If I bang on the top of the speedo cluster cover it stops for a few seconds and then starts again. It is kinda annoying and funny at the same time. Anyone have this problem too?

I've seen this with other cars I've owned...think it's a loose "bearing" in the speedo head? Not likely the cable. Maybe some grease/heavy oil where it's running loose?
Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.
