4AC

Post by keith »

Had a minor accident last night, not sure what happened. Maybe one of the new tires blew or the welds on the lower control arm mount let go but the car went out of control, hit an embankment and now looks just like Typrus's 86. Not worth fixing but I'm having it towed to the house to salvage parts.

Maybe someone here might be interested in the remanufactured 4AC I got off ebay last year. I'll make a good deal to any members here, but shipping is not going to be cheap. The Weber is up for grabs too, but I'd prefer it go with the engine if someone is interested. I have the original Cal carb for it too, and a Fed carb, but the Fed carb isn't any good. The engine has a reman distributor in it also so all the advances work. That will stay with the engine.

The tranny is ok too, along with the EMPI axles.

I'm not in a hurry, I live out in the boonies where its acceptable to have a wrecked car or two in the yard.

keith -
Since you did not mention it - I presume there were no injuries? Hope not.

It was his son, and he's alright. I was worried about injuries as well.

Looks like this is the cause of the accident. The front tire also had some similar discoloration like it hit the same thing but it didn't cut that tire, cut the rear one instead, inside sidewall.

Here is the wrecked side. The front tire is flat too but that is from the impact.

The welds for the lower control arm mount held, but is mangled now. I meant to take pictures and post them on how that repair went, but its too late now.

I'll be picking up the entire car, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. This should get Harriet ready for the next 300k mles or so.

I'll still visit, there's a great bunch of guys here. Maybe someday that car dealer who owns one in town will be willing to part with his, but he wont right now.
