I'm curious about how many people have done the 4A-c swap and your location, i think I'm still the only guy in Canada who has completed the swap... (and the first, correct me if I'm wrong, i did it summer of 2006)

I got an 87 with 4ac from a guy in Washington. Haven't really driven it much, besides the drive back to Calgary. I have redone the head gasket and the rediator. Hoping to do the carb and then a lift when I get it running good.

December 23, 2006. 4ac and Weber. "Oh, that part" of Tennessee (Mootsman may get that one). The county north of Memphis for those of you that have read "The Rainmaker"

I did mine almost 90,000 miles ago.I don't remember what year
I bought the car when it might have gone to the crusher. Two crinkled fenders, bent hood, hole in the radiator, and the clutch wouldn't pull 3rd gear.

But,it only had 134,000 on it and it wasn't rusty.

I'd never heard of the forum, didn't have a computer.
Was looking at engine specs in a shop manual and noticed the cam dimensions were the same 4AC and 3AC and an idea formed...
Like my old Volvo 544 with 4wd.I seldom regret neversieze or threadlocker

Picked up an 85 tercel wagon w/ a toasted motor a few weeks ago and got the 4AC into it this week...of course the starter was bad and I am now awaiting its arrival...the engine swap went amazingly well esp since the old engine was partially taken apart... a few vacuum lines had to be chased down but a pic up on this site had it all. Also popped in a new radiator and may be working on the carb next...of course the inner tie rods suspension and brakes are on the agenda not to mention bushings and a muffler...how much for it all...propably under 1500 for everything...haven't had a tercel in 20 years...now I can get rid of the 4runner...ciao gang you guys are great.

Welcome to the Club!
Check out the Parts forum for some OE parts numbers and dealer links. I just did all new front bushings, struts, springs, and axles (inner & outer tierods last year).
The tierods were from AZ, but I found the bushings at Butler Toy in Indy - and they were overall cheaper than the chain stores.

I know you guys know the name for this part...drove her around in the lot...today we get insurance and registration...and then the questions start..ha ha ha...glad to be almost road worthy...thanks for any helps

The TVSV (Temperature Vacuum Sensing Valve)? Black plastic, easily broken, piece with 5 vac tubes?
Do a Search for it - lots of info and numbers for it. It IS expensive...
