You know how it is when you're selling cars, and this impossibly hot girl comes in looking for a car, and you can't get her approved, and then she's telling the other salesmen about how she's going to LA for a Playboy shoot, and when you still can't get her approved, she says she'll do "anything" to get the car, and how nobody ever tells her no, and then the manager starts talking about just giving her any car she wants, if she'll really do "anything...and you end up telling her no anyway, and smiling, because she's just such an impossibly hot idiot...?
No?
Well it happened to me when I was still selling cars. Today a buddy was saying something about her, so I looked her up on the internet.
She wasn't joking about the Playboy thing.
Well, I did just post this in the wrong forum, didn't I? I was aiming for Off Topic, I don't know how I managed this...
Hot Chick...

Well, believe it or not, something almost similar happened to me in the bicycle shop about 35 years ago: This attractive lady couldn't quite afford the cost of the repair (we're not talking BIG dollars here, folks - 'member, it's a bicycle!), so she kept hinting around about being "very grateful," giving out coy smiles, and asking if there was "any" way I could reduce the cost...
Thinking only of keeping the wolf away from the door of my wifie and kiddies, I stuck to my price.
And, of course, she walked.
A couple of days later, a colleague from a neighboring shop called and asked about her - long story short - he modified his price - with a smile...
And you know - I was so naive, I had absolutely no idea what she was hinting at...

PS to neonsport - I covered for ya!

Ok, this was about 10 years ago but I'll try to remember it as best as I can. I picked up a prostitute by accident once. It was about 1AM in Uptown, and she waved me down, like she needed a ride or something. So, being a helpful Minnesotan and thinking she wasn't dressed very warmly and it was cold out, I pulled up in my white '87 two door Tercel "Johnmobile" and asked if she was stranded, she said that her date had left here or something. So I asked if she needed a ride, and she hopped in, and lit a cigarette without asking (yuck).
I asked where I could drop her off, and she said she would like to go "where ever I was going", and I said "I'm going home to go to sleep, sorry". I asked "didn't you need a ride home, if its on the way I can drop you off, or if its not too far out of the way I might be able to". Then she asked if I wanted to go to a party, and I said "no, I don't drink or really party much, and I really need to get home". After a couple more "where can I drop you off" and "I don't know, where do you want to go" and "do you want to party"'s I think it simultaneously donned on her and I that I was completely naive and didn't have a clue what she was talking about, and that she wanted money for sex. She then asked why I had picked her up, and I responded simply "because you said you need a ride".
I ended up dropping her off at the same corner I picked her up at, she was a little upset. If your wondering what she looked like, imagine a prostitute that would approach a rusty 87 Tercel, and you'll have a pretty good idea. Oh, and my "Johnmobile" did at the time have a small disco ball hanging from the mirror, which may have been why she thought I wanted to "party".

HAW ! I love it! ! !shonuffisthemaster wrote:...my white '87 two door Tercel "Johnmobile"...
Amazing how naive we all were - at least in some point in our lives...
And how candid we become later on...
Another tale from my naive past life...
When I was in my freshman year here in collitch at SLU in '59, I used to go to a certain spot in our great park, Forest Park, to study, as I had a 3-hour gap between classes in the second semester.
There I was, sitting in my HOT '52 Morris Minor 4-door...I was asked by some older gentlemen if I wanted to go party somewhere. I, of course said "No," and was mystified by the requests.
After this happened about three times, I mentioned it to my Dad. He exploded, and asked if I had parked by a certain statue in the Park. At my confirmation, he explained that that spot had been a pickup point for "gentlemen-who-wanted-to-party" for many, many years... He looked askance at me for a while...and then blamed it on "that dumb son of mine who bought that 'funny' furrin' car..."

I think that takes the cake! I've got a friend who's quite short and young looking, even though he's in his late 20's, and whenever he walks around Loring Park or by the river, well, lets just say he gets some unwanted male attention.ARCHINSTL wrote: he explained that that spot had been a pickup point for "gentlemen-who-wanted-to-party" for many, many years...
I've never even heard of a Morris Minor, was it a good car?
