wheel bearing assembly

Post by raybbaby »

I'm not sure how far apart to take the hub assembly before taking it to have the new bearing pressed in. I've got the entire thing out, and it just seems last time, it wasn't such a big unit. Is the plate with the four wheel studs supposed to still be there? Maybe my memory is just messing with me. I'm not sure of how to take it further apart.

depending on how bad your wheel bearing is your hub(the 4 stud thing the wheel bolts to) should still be intact.

OK thanks. I certainly couldn't figure out how to get it further apart, but I was hesitant to take it to the shop and look like an idiot. My memory must be needing an overhaul!
