Not quite the entire interior. Looks like the inclinometer is still gray.

Those original wheels are intriguing. They're different than any of the white steelies I've seen on a Tercel 4WD.

You ever been to Wyoming. There is a really out of the way camp east of Yellowstone that is arguably far more breathtaking than Yellowstone, but no motor vehicles allowed past the camp. Regulars come back every year, but it has not been "discovered" yet. I'm asking because there is a family from France that I met up there one year, but I don't know if they were regulars.

Been working too much nat taking enough vacations so I haven't been a regular myself, but retirement is just a couple of years away and that will be rectified.

BTW, I've only been to Paris once, but that will get rectified also when I retire.

Hi,

First of all, I'm sorry for my poor english
I worked for 8 years for the french agency of an german company
They don't speak french, I don't speak german
So ...
I'm still sorry for my english and american collegue :D

Ten years ago, with a friend, we spend a while in USA
san fransico - fort bragg - eugene - portland (kelso) - seattle (everett) - vancouver - kamloops (CAN) - kalispell (MO) - billings (MO) - jackson (WY) - denver - pueblo (CO) - monticello (UT) - flagstaff (AR) - mammoth lakes (CA) - reno - san fransisco
20 days
5 cars (chevy blazer - chrysler LHS - cadillac deville ( :D :D :D ) (but cad+deer= :? ) - chevy lumina - lincoln town car ( :D :D :D ))

Two years before this trip with my parents we have spend 12 days in south east, a chrysler LHS ( )
miami - clearwater - apalachicola - pensacola - new orleans - lafayette - baton rouge - NO - tallahassee - st augustine - orlando - miami

American car sounds (for me) with 8 cylinder so ... back to the Tercel :D

You are right, "Not quite the entire interior. Looks like the inclinometer is still gray."
Notice also the hand brake !
I have the brown one but no idea how to exchange it !
Front seat came from an AL21 (front fender too), other parts from an other white AL25
Rust came from humidity and from the japanese idea of biodegrablility !!!!
http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimages/ ... G_2676.JPG
Wheels do not came VW Rabbit (Us version of the european Golf) but from an BMW (e30)
Tyres came from china ( :D ) (blame on me, I'm born in clermont ferrand aka michelin town), wanli winter challenger
"Things" on the roof (I don't remenber the english name) came from a chrysler voyager I
Sunroof will come from an Opel Astra (european GM)

For the paint work, I'm not sure of the color
After have fun with a cheap version of adobe soft

http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimages/ ... ompier.jpg

http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimages/48295/g4_4.JPG

I'm still searching for paint reference
Especially for the last one "G4 style"
So if I didn't find, it will be the easiest way, something like the first illustration
The idea, a clear color (no AC), not brilliant paint, "camouflage" color (RAL 1002)

If one of you can give me color (RAL?) of the american camouflage ...

So long ...

Roissy, welcome to the forums! It is good to have another French member. You guy's take your cars very seriously, and do a nice job with modifications.

It is a lot of work swapping the interior. I have done that with my Tercel in the past. I didn't like the 86 SR5 interior, so put in the 87 deluxe interior instead.

I look forward to seeing the further progress of work on your car. I like the G4 paint style; that would look great.

Good luck!

For my information

In USA how much cost a new or rebuilt an "axle assembly"
In France it's pretty expensive :?
For both side, it cost something like 400 euros (520 Us dollar) for an rebuild pair.

I seen here "small" price
http://replacement.car-stuff.com/parts/ ... c=true#top

I think it's axle for AL21.

One of you had already exchange this pieces?

Try rockauto.com for their GSP brand, new half shaft assy. I checked for you, $233.02 for a pair of 100% new chinese built shafts shipped to Paris. The one I got is young yet but so far I'm very pleased. This is the best/cheapest option I know of.

I've put a few thousand miles on my new set of GSP axles, and they're still smooooth. So far they get a big thumbs up. Don't waste your money on remanufactured halfshafts.
