4age: if you can find an AE86 (RWD corolla GTS) that is definitely the easiest to swa because the engine is longitudally mounted. Newer 20 valve & AE92 engines are mounted right-left, so there has to be a few mods, such as a new intake and maybe a distributor.

4agze: do not, i repeat DO NOT put a 4agze in your tercel unless you want to blow your transmission. our transmission is easily damaged by high torque, so i would not recommend this.

7afe: good luck on finding one of these. this is basically a "big-block" version of the 4afe, which is in turn a economy version of the 4age. its mounted right-left, so light modding will be needed.

In addition, you will need a custom flywheel, the above engines use a 8-bolt pattern, whereas the 3ac uses a six-bolt. in other words: a 3ac flywheel with an eight-bolt pattern.

consider fuel injection too: new fuel lines & a new pump.

thats all i can think of now

I did a write up:
viewtopic.php?t=2271

its not that hard, i took 3 days dragging my ass.

the 3 main things you have to do are:
-swap mounts
-swap oil pan and pick up tube
-swap intake manifold

then there might be some sensors, A/C, etc with the variances between your tercel and the 4A-C engine your using.
Tercel 4WD "POWER WAGOON" with 4A-C
aka: "no powa steering tercel, oh oh oh!"
mods: ignition at 10 DBTDC and 90 octane gas.
