kyb struts and shocks

Post by 2manytoys4menow »

Well I swapped out my 84 tercs junk front struts and rear shocks for some kyb's . It cost me a total of $144 for all 4 . Took me a total of maybe 2 hours to do . WOW is all I can say about the ride . My everyonce in awhile clunk in the front end has now gone away . It now drives as nice as my wifes 85 sr5 terc . I just wish I had the 85's power steering and 4:10 gears .

I put KYBs in the front of my '84 when the fronts gave out. I am pleased with them. I will eventually get a pair in the rear, but the rears are not too bad yet. And then the better spring set all the way around. I can hardly wait.

Right now I think I need to replace the rear axle bearings, they are starting to give a low roar. My experiance on my other one has been it will just keep getting more noisy. oh-well, at least they are not too costly.

One of my KYB's blew out after only having it on there for an oil change! Not too excited about that!

That's the first time I've heard anything like that about KYBs. I was very happy with the set I put on my old Civic. They do have a lifetime warranty, don't they?

I think they do but I am not sure how to cash it in.

You take it back, or send it back, to where you bought them. If not sure, go the the KYB web site and email or call their toll free number and get instructions. IF the retailer you bought it from is no longer in business, they might just send you a replacement directly.
