Mounting Bracket needed

Post by Chris »

I am in need of an A/C compressor-Alternator mounting bracket for use with an Internal Regulator Alternator (like the alternator shown on page CH-14 in the FSM)
If anyone has such an item that they would be willing to part with, please let me know.
Thanks a bunch....Chris

I have a parts car that had a/c and the internal regulator alternator, but it'll be at least the weekend before I could get out there to pull the bracket.

neonsport: Sounds great. No need to hurry. Let me know what you want for it. What year is the parts car? Where are you located?
Thanks......Chris

I think the parts car is an 84, but it's been a while since I looked. I'm in Arkansas.

I guess I should have been a little more specific. There is a difference between the early IC regulator alternators and the later IC regulator alternators. The earlier alternators have the cooling fan mounted externally (by the pulley). The later IC regulator alternators have an internal cooling fan and is a more compact design. As a result, the mounting system is slightly different. If you have a copy of the 1985 FSM you can see the style alternator that I have on page CH-14. I think the 1984 models had the older style with the external fan. Correct me if I am wrong. I would appreciate it if you would double check to see which one you have.
Thanks again.

i have two different A/C / alternator brackets. i have no idea what type of alternator attaches to them. the alternator mounting point on one is abt 2.625 wide for alt. with two mounting ears that are abt 2.625 inside dimension.(they wrap around the mount)
the other alt. mounting point is abt 2.25 wide for an alt with single mounting ear abt 2.25 outside dimension.(it goes inside the mount)
you can have them for cost of shipping
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Thanks for the quick reply and photos on that mounting bracket. Sorry that I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I have been real busy this past month trying to tie up a few jobs, working in a steel mill during their shut down and moving my son back here from Moses Lake. Tomorrow I'm taking off to Colorado for a few days. Busy, busy, busy!!!!

From the photos that you posted, it looks like the bracket on the left (in photo #1) is the one I need. Let me know what you want for it. I'll try to e-mail you when I get back next week. I tried sending you a Private Message thru the forum but I got an error message.

Again..thanks a lot for the reply.
