4 bolt to 6 bolt adaptor
I am tired of the terrrible options for wheels and tires
I am going to have some adapters made to bolt up the toyota 6 bolt wheels
Who would also like some? The more people are interested the less it will cost obviously. I was planning on making 5 sets but if more people want in that is cool too.
The adapters will probably run 100 bucks or so but if you think about it you can get dirt cheap take offs with good tires on craigs list and that more than makes up for it. I found some toyota 17's with tires for 175 bucks.
think about it,

Welcome to the forums!TreeKiller wrote:I am tired of the terrrible options for wheels and tires
4x100mm (our tercel's) are probably the most common rim out there. I don't know what you mean about terrible options? Every economy fwd Japanese import from 1980-1995 or so uses this size. Are you looking for something particularly out of the norm? Just go with a 14" rim and you'll find even more options.

My 15" alloy rims are pretty slick. Nabbed them off of a Ford Escort GT. Same hub diameter and same bolt-spec. Heck, they een use acorn-style lugs! I didn't need anything special which is good for me.
When I had them with tires.. 205/50R15. Worked very well, but would rub at full lock when coming off of a side-road onto the main (bump would cause rubbing) but my springs are shot to hell so I can't say whether thats a normal occurrence. They looked really good on it and I liked them a lot. My issue was that they got worn too far and I can't afford replacements. Oh well.

I'd be very surprised if you couldn't get those Toyo tyres (or tires where most of you are) in the states. I reckon they would look cool on the 80's style Fact mags. I'd only need that grip twice a year but if I had more offroad driving to do they would be my first choice
Off topic, my friend had a Renault Fuego.. the factory wheels were 14.5 inch. Only one set of tyres would fit it.. funny enough Michelins specifically made in some anti competitivity pact ( but then you'd expect a little quirk in a french car) ... you thought we had problems finding tyres? C'est la vie

The Ford EXP used those tires too. They were also sold by Sears as a rim and tire package, but only Michelin made the tire. It wasn't very popular.ff topic, my friend had a Renault Fuego.. the factory wheels were 14.5 inch. You think that's bad? My 1980 Saab 900GLE that I had in California had 390mm rims. There was only one brand, one model, in one size tire that fit it. At $147.00 a tire in 1990!!
Needless to say I switched rims to 15" very quickly.

I have come on and off this board several times now I keep forgeting my info so I start a new name. I transplanted a 5af into my 4wd two years ago.
Most of the rims out there are either skinny or the backspacing is more for street tires. I want to throw some truck tires on my beast as well as gut it out and upgrade to a 1.8. I am going start this once I get a garage (2 months or so). I was just wandering if anyone else was interested.

Yours is my bestest favourite engine swap... what is the engine code of the 1.8?

Too bad the modifications to make it mate up would probably be a total nightmare.....
