Redline webber 32/36 DGAV - The only carb to use.
off road carburetor
You betcha! I have been looking at getting one of those this spring so I can install it over spring break-up. They aren't tooo expensive. Mmmm... webbery goodness....
Here is the link to the install guide/compilation that typus made up (I like the pictures):

Welcom to the list. You have a few options:
The simplest conversion is to buy the Weber kit as noted above. The kit is somewhat pricy ($300-400 though this is less expensive than buying a new stock carb). You could buy the adapter for about $30 (or make your own), and buy a used Weber off of Ebay or Craig's list. There is always a bit of tinkering and perphaps re-jetting to make everything work well. lots of info in the archives about this option. You also might consider adapting the old Ford Pinto Holley/Weber carb. Similar design carb but I understand the throttle linkage is on the other side as the regular weber. There is likely some tinkering required to get this to work. If you could get this to work it would be inexpensive as far as finding used parts.
I like the idea of converting it to a Suzuki/Geo throttle body injector system. If you get everything you need from pull-a-part it would be inexpensive, but there would be some adapters and other parts to make it work. But it would all bolt on to the existing intake manifold, and all the sensors are built into the throttle body simiplying the conversion. There a thread in the archives that did this one.
There is an aftermarket programable injection conversion kit that looks like it would be a good way to go. Though this likely would cost more than the wrecking yard parts supply. there is info in the archives about this too.
One thing I am considering is to get the whole EFI system from a later model tercel or corolla and convert the whole car to injection. This may require changing the head and manifold (if not the whole engine-which will bolt-up fine) as well as having a new exhaust system to match built to fit. I like this one because of the availablity of used cheap parts, though this is not for the inexperianced, and likely would take a certain amount of tinkering to get to it work. This would be a major project/upgrade and not a quick fix.
Someone even adapted an old Datsun Hitachi carb to work in their Tercel, it is in the achives. I am sure there may be other carbs from BS cars that might work [BS= "before smog"]. Presumably any reliable carb from a similar size engine could be made to work, I have done this on other BS cars many years ago. It would be best if there were various sized jets available to try. The fuel injection conversions eliminate this since the controller adusts the mixture as you drive it. I am a big fan of fuel injection, have driven and work on both carbs and EFI for many years. EFI will run thousands of trouble free miles with little or no service, not true even with the best of carbs. They will requrie overhaul, clean-out and adjusting regularly.
Good luck, keep us posted on what you finally do.

The later Tercel engines will not just bolt up >.< Only "A" family engines will. You might be able to get a 7AFE to bolt up (later Corolla) but it might be hard from the increased size and transverse mounting.
MegaSquirt. Look it up. Sweet stuff. Pricey, but infinitely tunable.
The Holley 5200 (Pinto, Mustang II, Bobcat, Dodge 2.2 Rampage...) is a cheap knock-off of a Weber DFV carb. Note the D"F"V, not D"G"V". DFV is a mirrored carb to the DGV. But it has been done. If you look in YouTube for 4AC, and get the one where the guy is revving up with the camera under his hood, (BTW, that guy had an absolutely sick setup... Tried to buy it off of him, but I got out-offered) He's either using a DFV or a 5200.
5200's are less tunable. Still a good carb, if you can work with it, but things like Emulsion tubes are non-interchangeable. A Weber can come apart in near every way and be changed up.

.... What?
DGV= manual choke
DGEV= electric choke
DGAV= water-operated choke.
Same rules apply for the DFV series, just in a mirrored carb.
