Post by vengabeast »

How much work in involved in removing and reinstalling a front fender in an '88? What tools would I need and are there any tips or good ways to do it?

Had them off an '83. Not bad at all except for one bolt near the headlight that is hard to get to. Just use a 10mm (?) socket and wrench?
Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.

It will most likely be a LOT easier on yours than it will be on mine. If I tried to remove a fender from mine, the whole car would probably fall apart......

(BTW, my car is around 75% rust, 20% metal, and 5% air where metal and rust USED to be)

Heh. You think thats bad? I have a buddy with an old Trooper. There is about 1/4" in from all 4 corners left of his frame from front of rear door to about 3 inches in front of rear axle. HE TAKES IT JUMPING. I told him never to loosen up the body. Thats all thats holding his poor frame together. Lol.

10 mm bolts up along under the hood, 2 or so under the headlights, 2 or 3 under the front of the door (easy to get to if your door will open... unlike my Blue Terc  )
The mudflaps come off if I remember right... Maybe one or 2 bolts to the bumper bracket, then several to the fender liner. Assuming I remember right of course. I've had to take the liner off of 2 other cars, so forgive me if I got mixed up.

If its the side with the antenna.... hehe.... Good luck. Its one solid piece all the way to the stereo.
