It Figures......

Post by coltarms »

The portland area just got about 4" of snow and ice and I'm stuck in Arizona for work this week......

My fiancee actually said that she's wishing my Turkle wasn't parked at the airport 'cause her tacoma 4x4 isn't doing as well on the roads....

Man I wish I could be driving my terc :(
Havent fixed the head gasket yet, and at this rate, I wont get around to it till next summer.

I drove my Mazda3 around portland today, without hardly much trouble at all.
It's got bald summer tires on right now, and even then, I'm going up hills that 4x4 trucks are sliding backwards on.
Its really all about throttle control, modulate, keep a steady foot, lay off when a wheel slips.
Maintaining a good speed so you can stop in time, etc.
If people followed those steps, they could drive any car, FWD, RWD, 4WD, without any problems.

I honestly think people think 4wd and awd make you immune to snowy conditions, they really dont. They just aid you.

Just really want that tercel working so I can find an empty parking lot and have at it :D
Current Cars:
2006 Mazda3 GT fully loaded - love it
1984 Toyota Tercel SR5 4WD - new to me!
