I've used scissors jacks and so forth...plus 4 x 4s. Will try a trolley jack on plywood this time. Can use chunks of wood and even put grease on them to allow the trans to slide if needed. Takes patience?

its not that heavy I can pick the whole transaxle up by myself just use a good floor jack or get someone to help you wiggle it out

I bought a transmission jack at Harbor Freight for $39 on sale. It's one of those things I don't use often, but it's worth every penny when I do.

Trolley jack works a treat. Well worth having one around the house anyway. Scissor jacks suck, especially the one that came with my MR2 (the handle is made of 2 parts and is gauranteed to fall apart at the most inopportune time causing you to skin your knuckles on the ground).

Keep your scissors lubed. I used to only use Scissors to lift my Terc. One corner at a time. Its not too terrible. Just don't take your pumpers for granted.
I plan on using my motorcycle jack. Just strap her down. I have enough back problems.... God I don't want to know where my back'll be in 40 years... (shivers)

I think that minus fluid the tranny is around 75lbs.
