The first is me moving the microphone around the engine bay. The first squeaky is the power steering pulley. Can't get it to shut up unfortunatly. Will look at it upon rebuild.
The 2nd is more exhaust clip. Showcases my hollow grumbliness and my (?) misfiring. And backfiring at the end lol.
The 3rd is the important one. The microphone is stationary against the differential housing. Lovely sounds. Might be normal and I've just never noticed?
The 4th is just me with the mic at my air filter with my filter lid flipped. A wee grumbly. Hope it gets deeper with a Weber and porting.
So yeah. I'm worried about my axle. Based on the audio, any ideas?
(thanks again for the host!)

Heh, you should hear my rear axle!! At 55mph the grumbling from it goes louder than the engine/exhaust noise, and considering my muffler consists of a tractor muffler speaker-wired onto the end of the rusted out pipe, mine is considerably louder than stock!! And with all the rusted out parts on my car, you hear it even more, and yet at 75 I can no longer hear the exhaust, only the rear axle. Sounds like I've got a mangled wheel bearing, but there's no play in any of them that I can see with the "wiggle test". Probably the diff gears on mine.
Yours sounds almost like dirt got in your wheel bearing.

I have an waterpump pulley that makes that squeak, but only when colder weather hits...has a slight bend in it where the belt runs.
Exhaust sounds good till the last rev up...then something isn't right.
If you want something to worry about...try listening to your engine from underneath when running...it'll make you want to drive easier.

Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.
