anyone within driving distance of Portland Oregon...there is an 83 sr5 4wd tercel on Ebay that no one has bid on that loks to be in allright shape (bodywise at least, and that's saying something something) as f right now there are 15 hours and 59 minutes left on the auction...starting bid is $395 or buy now for $495. I was seriously tempted to bid, but I have too many "hafta dos" with my money tha I can't justify it.

here is the link...

them: so you're telling me your tercel has 1.5 liters...where as my pepsi has two?

me: yes, can you seat 5 people in your pepsi...and does it have 4WD? oh...my bad

That looks good, though I've seen better deals. I'm looking to buy a rust-free body and willing to travel for it, when I get the money saved which shouldn't be long now. If you see a deal on a 4WD, post it here, that's what we all do.

It's back up, and almost over already - JIC someone else missed it, with the Buy it Now price at $395. 3A-C had mentioned seeing better deals - how much can a guy expect to spend for a car like that? Myself, I'm going to try to buy it, sometime after the auction, drag it home, and R&R the throwout bearing and clutch

Since it's only about 160 miles from me, would $395 be a good price for that car, or how much should I offer for it??

Maybe you should try to offer $350 at first? Maybe the person will take it considering going that distance you'll have to travel to get it. That noisy release bearing is a pain in the neck.

With those miles and little rust...I'd say go for it. I paid around $1100 for mine with some serious rust, but good drivetrain and 190K miles...talked the guy down from $2000. Most seem to want at least in the $1K and up range...many cars have near 200K miles also.

Might check the frame on the corner where the fender was replaced. And try to find out if that noisy throwout bearing is really the problem and not the trans mainshaft.
