FUEL FILLER TUBE

Post by jetswim »

Anyone ever replace just the tube? Mine leaks sometimes when I fill up but not all the time!? Not sure why this is but it does look rough though. I also just bought a SR5 Corolla 1985 recently and when I put gas in it guess what...yep it leaked out of the filler tube too LOL!

I don't remember if it was removable or not. If it is, I'd imagine the gasket is fried. Or a hefty rock might've been hurled up through the plastic barrier and put a pinhole in the tube?

If you drop the tank, there is a screw, maybe 2 up behind the filler flap to undo before it'll drop.

So my neighbours fixed there 1987 Corolla fuel filler pipe last year by removing the rear wheel only (and plastic too). Seems they were able to access everything from there. The problem they had was finding the right pipe part. I'll have to get at it one day.
