Might be a far straighter path to 1.8.And taller deck = longer rods=better rod angle.Thunder Road.kamiphloj PS I don,t know too much about knife edging cranks.Seems like taking weight off a counterweight.Anybody heard of an old school thing called a windage tray?Sheet metal baffle goes over main cap studs.Shrouds crank and keeps the oil in the pan sump instead of flying around needing to be chopped up

I'm not so sure about knife-edging either... If things aren't properly balanced at 8000RPMs.....

as i experienced with mk2 1600cc escort engine after i rebuilt it realld dodgily as an experiment
