Circumstances beyond my control forced me to sell my 87 4wd Wagon a couple of years ago. I can honestly say that I have missed being a part of this group.
As of last week, I am the proud owner of a 1983 SR5 4WD Wagon so I am back in "the club!" I have already fixed the a/c on it and am planning on putting in a new clutch this weekend.
I'm looking forward to holding on to this car for a while and being a part of this group. Pictures of my old car (the gray one) and my new one (the orange one) are attached.
Welcome back !
These are certainly clean cars; you are fortunate!

It is an ashtray, which I'm certain you remember from your beloved Tercel which went to the boneyard.

ARCHINSTL: thank you. I already knew it was an ashtray. I just decided to use a different word for it.
terceldude -
I loved your explanation. The subjective definition certainly reminded me of Humpty Dumpty's famous explanation to Alice...

You'll really hate me when I tell you that those pics were taken about 5 minutes after I bought the car and BEFORE I cleaned it up! It looks even better now with a shampooed interior and machine buffed exterior. I certainly lucked up on this one.
By the way, the carbon fiber ashtray was "installed" when I bought the car. It is nothing realy special. It appears that the previous owner put a carbon fiber sticker on the original ashtray. I've heard that doing that adds an additional 10 horsepower to the car, especially when you put racing air in the tires and rotate the wiper blades! I'm burning those 13's down!
