87 Tercel For Sale

Post by arbskynxnex »

Well the time has come to get rid of my baby. I haven't been able to drive my car for the last 11 months because of a wrist injury and it doesn't look like I'll be able to drive it any time soon. So I'm selling it.

Its an '87 Tercel 4WD SR5 with 10K miles on the rebuilt engine and trans. 230K-240K miles on car (I'll find out exactly the next time I check my car, since its not with me.) It has been started every other week and moved short distances to keep the tires from getting flat spots.
Car is white with a black and dk blue interior
It has a rebuilt 4AC w/ new pistons, rings, bearings, oil, fuel and water pumps.
The head was rebuilt by a machine shop.
Rebuilt carb from the same Corolla the engine came from.
Professionally Rebuilt transmission, its from an 83-84
Clutch and cable, brakes, tie-rod ends, ball joints were all replaced when the engine was.
Alpine tape deck (compatible with a cd changer)
Infinity speakers
All windows roll up and down with no problems
Driving lights installed
Clinometer Installed (vinyl cover has splits)
Good rubber w/factory spare
Interior is in good shape, floor mats are worn, but no holes in carpet or seats.
Tercel, Corolla and Tercel/Corolla manuals included
Misc spare parts
Wheel caps are included, but not pictured

It does need a larger radiator installed. I have one from a corolla to go on, it will take some customization to fit. The wheels were repainted silver and don't look all that great. The cold idle needs to be adjusted a little bit.

I'd like to get $2500 for it, but I'll consider offers. Car is located in Shelton, Wa

Wondered what happened to you...your last post was last August...you passed on a lot of good information.
The car looks very nice and sorted-out.
Hope your wrist injury will not be long-term and debilitating.
:(
Good Luck with the car and your wrist.

Couple of things I forgot in the first posting:
Car does have a Class 1 hitch with 2" ball installed. It also has the trailer wiring to go with it, but it hasn't been installed yet.
Paint on the front of the hood has lots of rock chips, no rust though
Windshield has some dings in it, but no cracks.

Thanks Tom
The car works a lot better than my wrist does. Unfortunately my wrist is pretty much trashed. This is my third time around with it since it was broken when I got hit by a car. I'm selling my car so I can go to school and use my head to do something besides hold stuff up with it.
