Tilt Gauge install?

Post by L-ucky-S-ix »

Is it possible to install the gauges that are on the center of the dash of some Terc SR5 models in a non-gauged SR5?

Those 3 gauges that show tilt using degrees and the 4wd light or what not.

I found them at a junkyard and want to install them on a friends terc. The wiring was hard to follow so I only disconnected it at the connector that is 6 inches from the gauges themselves.

Hope this is clear.

There are several threads addressing this very subject.
I would suggest doing a Search.
I would further suggest doing a Search for same using GTSSportCoupe as the author...

Thanks for the link. I will be checking it out shortly as I am very tired and the time of day is unusually early/late. Sorry to ask such a question but my friend there and I do believe that the first resopnse was a bit harsh since I am anything but "new" to a car forum. Please refer to my sig if you have any doubts... go ahead and try to make a mx6 as sexy as it is now without a forum.

Per my earlier post - I've always found it easier to do a Search for the needed information for several reasons:
1. The question may be answered completely.
2. The question may be partially answered, but since your situation is slightly different, you can formulate a new thread based on the differences noted.
3. It saves the questioner time, in that there is no wait for answers.
4. It gives one the background to ask a follow-up question to the original thread.

Vis-a-vis
the inclinometer question: Do the Search, as there are a couple of follow-up threads relating to GTSSportCoupe's thread, thus adding to the literature.
Good Luck with the installation. It's kind of an eye-candy item, but it's fun. There was one on my '83 SR5 (then new), and the kids loved watching it move on vigorous maneuvers on interstate ramps and the like.

As to a dearth of MX6 sites, there are a couple of Mazda/MX6 sites that I know of, including one in Canada (I think). I hit those whilst looking for information about a radio from my late, much lamented, '86 626 5-door. Unfortunately, I did not save the info, but I do know there are at least a few, with active MX6 forums therein.
