With our stock axles, brackets would need to be welded on and the componants off of, say, a 1987 Corolla GTS AE86 would be needed. Including the Master Cylinder, proportioning and biasing valves... ETC.

Nobody has done it on a live axle yet.
Closest thing I think anyone has tried was a GTS AE86 rear axle swap. Dunno how that went or if they even went through with it.

the only bad thing about swaping in a gts rear end is that, to make the 4wd work youll need a 87 gearbox with the 4.1 ratio, also you would need anoder pair of rims because the bolt pattern is 114.3 x 4
tercel 4wd custom suspension, under drive pulley, vented brakes, cold air intake, and plenty more to come

Thanks heaps as i'll have a closer look today

most codes are for straight up utes or comercial

if ya got a tercel can ya give me your example thanks cuzman

my year of make is 1990 but looks like the early id tag

my dads rolla is a ae112r and still looks the same on the id tag?
what the....mayby some markets had to change due to the govenment?
my numbers just dont make sence!
eg e57-f5-834 (ae95 wagon 4wd built 89)
dads car has a240l-06a (2002 ae112r liftback rolla)
i think im missing somthing here so i'll have a closer look thanks again

found it

Post by cuzman »

my body no. is one the fire wall near the brake booster!

it jt772ae9500065370

the id plate is to the right!

it says my tran/axle is e57-f5-834

i belive that the e57 is the gearbox..like an e58 in the mr2 4agze but with a different ratio?
as you can see the rest has too many digets by one !
the last diget is the pinoion type
1=2 p open
2=2p lsd
3= 4p open
4=4p lsd

f sould be the ring size
and the next two sould be the ratio
so i have an extra digit? what the
i have been to every web site in english and only found codes for rwd pick ups and std rollas/tercel's....i need a id off more 4wd tercells for a comparison as if it works we might be able to fit stronger diffs for the back
and mayby the front?
all info given will be put into my data base and made avalible to you guys once complete.as thats the least i can do for your imput and time!

I don't own any stinkin 2wd's....

So wait... You have an LSD rear? Or is that the center diff on yours? Those Corolla All-Trac's are AWD, not 4wd.

I can pretty much guarantee your diff/axle is stronger. Stronger engine, heavier car, and its a Rolla.

Fitment is the next biggest question.

Yer it's awd with a centr diff and diff lock..
the rear is solid axel..but as ive got three diffs im not sur how to read the code
i know the e57 is the gearbox but after that iv got an extr diget!
but which is the extra one i dont know?
a rear diff code would normaly be 4 digets eg
f054

this would give me 7.5 buy 3.7 ratio and a 4pinon lsd
normal rollas have a c52 or 58 gear box
for the super charged motors they use e series e52 e58
mine is an e67 so i got no ideal except to asume the ratios are for a normal asperated motor but the streanth of the e box

any more 4wd codes would be handy!
if i can work it out you guys might be able to use my diff! vice vsa
and i'll soon work out a good brake conversion(discs for the diff)
