Ok so here's the story. I recently rebuilt my engine to my 83 terc and everything was working fine. the engine turned on perfectly and it sputters a tad. however, I have to put it in EL mode and then shift into the rest of the gears. why would my terc do this? could it be that i need a new transmission??
Why is it necessary to put it in EL? Does the engine lack torque at low RPMs? If that's the case, look for the valve timing to be off by a tooth (retarded) or ignition timing to be off.
well whenever i put it into first it struggles real BAD! if i put it in EL and then shift, there is no problem [well besides trashing my car]. it might be the valve timing not sure. i mean i bought a new ignition set so i don't think that might be it, but i'll give it a go. thanks.
