Well I finally started working on the green 85 sr5 terc on monday . For those that don't remember , I bought this car with a possible bad cylinder head . compression was 165-165-50-0 . I finally put the wrenches to it and got the head off and found 2 exhaust vales are burnt with one SO bad you could see daylight between the valve and seat

. I had went to the boneyard awhile back and picked up another complete head for $40 and that's the head that's getting rebuilt now . It's costing me $125 and that's for valve and seat grind , pressure testing , valve stem seals and head surfacing . It's $48 for top end gaskets and I'm also going to rering it so theres another $22 for rings . I can still see the factory cross hatches in the bore and there is no ring ridge in the bores and with only 148 tousand on it I should be for anothe 150 thou after it's all together . These are pretty easy car's to work on . I'm trying to find a terc for my 17 yr old cousin but he has a adverse reaction to driving a 4dr

. On a smaller note

My wife totaled our 89 mr2 yesterday morning . following to close in the rain and rear ended a big truck . She's fine as it was only about a 5 mph hit but the car hit the trucks reciever hitch and took out the the front bimper , hood , and core support . It happened 4 miles away so I drove the car home . Nothing happened to the truck . I'm pretty po but it's just a car and the wifes ok . She's driving my 84 terc wagon and I told her to stay away from Ford trucks for awhile

. I've got alot of work into that car . The green 85 is going to be her "new" car . I will post up when I get the 85 running . Hope to get done this weekend
