Brake solutions
Every time I brake the car start shaking, the harder I brake, the harder the shaking. I was told that needs an alignment, or the rotors need to be resurfaced. Any advice or solution to this

yes you do need to get your rotors turned, possible replaced, but might as well new rotors are 20 bucks a piece, but most auto parts stores do it for free
it depends on the minimum thinckness of your rotors, problem is if your rotors are thick enough to turn them, their are more sensible to warping again because the thinner they are, the easier it is to distort them when braking hard
i say if they are still original replace them
the alignment should not have an effect on your problem, the only thing an alignment problem would cause is brake pull, unless you got some loose or worn suspension parts
you'd be suprised how much vibration you can get from rotors with runout
hope that helps

From personal experience I can say that if your front disc brake rotors get too ridged for whatever reason that braking can become an unpleasant experience. Some shaking or shuddering in the front end is entirely possible. Could be other problems causing this, but brake pads/shoes rotors/drums are quick and easy to check, and if they are okay at least you have ruled them out as one possible cause.Every time I brake the car start shaking, the harder I brake, the harder the shaking. When did you check your pads and rotors last? Its easy to check them, and if they are groovy or ridged, if pads are getting thin or are down to bare metal, its time for some brake work. Check your rear drum brakes at the same time - same problem is that if the drums are neglected for too long they will get ridged/grooved as well.
You can buy new rotors for about $25 a pair...so new pads and rotors won't "brake" the bank?
Don't bother having them turned...$25 is what I paid last time and it didn't take out the warp.
If you don't do your own work....well that's the place to look anyway.

Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.

Gasoline Fumes - Thanks ! ! !
WOW - this should be required reading - fascinating information! This is written with a technical bent, but directed toward us lay persons. The author certainly has the props for his explanations. Check out the entire site.
