takza -
Well, I think you are dating yourself.
I did not realize the Mary Jane euphemism was still in use.
Some of the younger folk may have to Google it for the meaning...
Been a long time since I've seen those two words.

That's a take off on the old government scare flick on the dangers of Mary Jauna.

If you Google and do other searches on this...the references to marijauna are pretty thin.

As far as the being dated concept....in terms of the overall history of man (which is a blink of the eye in geological terms) the supposedly important differences in concepts between the generations seem relatively meaningless. Unless you live around some teenagers I guess.

I was sure a PITA for awhile as I remember...might still be...but my memory is failing me....

Reefer is still in use ? ? ?
I thought that went out with the 1938 flick to which I think takza refers....I guess what goes around comes around.
I actually saw that in HS back in the '50s and the people showing it were deadly serious. To show the naivete of the times, most of us had not a clue as to what the film was about. Remember - this was the '50s, and not the '60s....
About the only thing I remember from the film was the kid who stuck a broken soda bottle in his mouth in his "madness" and blood gushed forth in a torrent.

I'm pretty sure I saw the film...one of those get people together (about 20 at a time)...go in a room...watch the film...with a couple of the then typical REAL SERIOUS people...after it was over...it was WTF was that all about!? This was about when I began to suspect I might be living in the "Twilight Zone".

(Now...I'm 110% sure I am.)

I do remember one time...during some kind of high school festival...the guy running the projector...showing some free movies...starting running it backwards....everybody 'bout fell off their seats...real entertainment was hard to come by in the "good old days". One of the then typical REAL SERIOUS people showed up and shut that down pretty quick.

Heh, reefer.. Anyone ever hear the song 'Two Joints' by Sublime? It's got a skit at the beginning that sounds like it's from the 50's, so I guess it is an old word to describe it.

ANd speaking of music, I dunno how old it is, but I'm loving the song 'Bang' by the Armchair Cynics right now. I like that rocky stuff. Anyone hear it?

Oh, and get those awful round headlights off my poor car DontFive
or I'm suing. :D

Btw: I found an old brown Tercel at a junckyard with MINT moldings around the windshield and rain gutter thing. I'm hoping to get them before it gets squished.

Haha! Armchar Cynics are in my town (Victoria BC). A cousin of one of my best friends is in the band. I hear them all the time on the radio here. They are good.

nice car mate however i have a suggestion... the next set of tires you buy for your terc make sure you get 185/80/13s or upgrade to a 14 inch rim. i despise those mickey mouse tires.
oh ya and dont be afraid to take it off road. get it stuck in the mud or something.
i love the interior. the black carpet and the bucket seats. ive got the utilitarian version for sure.
also is that a sony cd/mp3 player? ive got the same deck i think. do you have a problem with it at all. mine is kinda querky. it doesnt play the cd in the same spot when i shut the car off. i have to select cd everytime and scroll to the song last played.
info is appreciated...
cool ride

looking back all the gallery , find them neat pictures, till some one took picture of speed and RPM , my first car 1983 tercel at 1996 and recently bought 1983 4WD are same 3,000 RPM at 112 KMH(70mph) or 2,700RMP at 100 KMH, compare 1984 thru 1987 are 3,000rpm at 100kmh same as i use to drive 1986 4WD , so 1983 tercel should get better gas milage , but only one year , and the rest are 4 years same differentail , why change
