problem with P/S....

Post by T-Bone »

well... after fixing my O2 sensor and stopping the loud exhaust noise i heard a new buzzing noise. i checked my P/S fluid level and it was empty. I added more fluid to it and the noise went away. But after a little bit of driving around i got back to my house and saw it dripping P/S fluid. It was dripping right before the lines reach the steering rack where the little mount holds both of them together. is it hard to replace the P/S lines and do the lines cost a lot? i have a toyota shop manual for my tercel but it doesnt really show where the lines go, it just shows where they hook up into the rack. Please help :(

If it just drips...maybe its the return line...the high pressure line probably costs a bit?

it drips from one line and srays out from the other. i went to the toyota dealer today and ordered some new lines. the return and high pressure lines that hook up to the rack were only $25 each, and there was another line that hooks up to the return line that i need to replace that was only $17. looks like im not getting new tires this week. ill try to take some pics of my R and R with the new lines.
