Stumbling/hesitation with engine half warm

Post by dug320 »

Stupid subject language but I am so pissed off.

Cold engine start fine. When engine temp moves the needle to 1/4 to 1/3 it starts to stumble/hesitate when upon giving it the gas. After a couple of seconds of giving it the gas it clears and everything is normal. This cycle repeats until the temp gauge is in the midddle.

Any ideas????????   :!: :?:

Mine did the reverse - fine when cold, then the RPM cycling from then on.
After trying everything in the book and throwing an embarrassing amount of parts at it, I found that by disconnecting the vac line to switch "A" that it stopped the cycling - see my recent posts on this.
I had to sit down and really think things through - e.g., what does the increase in temperature affect? Naturally, it affects a lot of devices, so it was/is quite a pain in the tush. I had to reread the FSM and the AZ info many times to figure the sequences, and I might have figured it out (yeah, right...).
'Course, mine was the opposite of your problem, but who knows?

I knocked a vac hose loose the other day and it caused that problem.
