how does the filler neck cap holder come off?
The filler neck comes off by removing the 6 or so bolts around the base of it. If you're talking about the big chunk of metal around the top of the filler neck that seals with the body of the car... well I just had that same dilemma. As far as I know it doesn't come off. The replacement tank I put in my car had a fixed neck that didn't have that chunk attached, so now my filler neck has a gap between it and the body behind the filler door. I can snap a picture or two if you'd like.
painted the roof today
i had big problem. ran out of paint when i just started a second coat. i thought i mixed plenty. the first coat was smooth as glass.
the second i was in a hurry and did not use enough thinner. well it did not settle and i got orange peel.
also i did not like to use the hardener with the enamel paint. it just makes it harder to clean up. it dries in about 2 hours as it is.
