I found this pic on one of my rabbit-hole Tercel searches.

it was a thing! I have a colour image on my other computer at home. the links go to a german auto website where you can pay to view the article and hi res images. the Tercel was swiss registered and drove over the english channel to france. Although after that I imagine the bodywork soon resembled swiss cheese.

somewhere on this forum is a picture of that tercel out on the water making its way toward France (wheels spinning, throwing water out in big rooster tails).
