Re: Fuel Pump Failure

My pump is leaking and I am here to check if its rebuildable or should I just replace it? I have a 1984 (early) version. (medium-spec SR5 without A/C and steel rims instead of alloys etc) I will be installing another engine in the future and was hoping the new fuel pump will be fine to feed a 4AC we...

Re: 2nd Gen 4A-FE Swap

Definitely a tricky issue with ITB's Im very keen to see what you end up with! Even if the appropriate part is expensive it would be better to go with a 100% proven solution. The bosch unit is solid, if you can set it up correctly! I have seen adaptors to suit ford style IACV, the 2JZ crew do it a b...

Re: When should I replace shock Spring Coils ?

Just a few items Im looking at on ebay currently: So many re-sellers buying these parts and adding ridiculous mark-ups.... I'd imagine Webco shocks are for budget conscious home mechanics, perhaps a good torture test will document how they last after a while. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lovells-Toyo...

Re: My Ivan Stewart "IRON MAN" Stripes

I was looking at getting the 'Sprinter Carib 4wd AV-2' stripes in the TRD colours, except it wouldnt really match my mist green.
this gem solidly presses my retro button:

Re: 2nd Gen 4A-FE Swap

Looking inspirational there. I have been convinced this will be the 2nd engine conversion I plan for :) is there room to mount it onto the cam gear itself? is it a 1 to 1 ratio? 20 valve guys do this: https://shop.battlegarage-rs.com/products/sq-20v-distributor-relocation-kit Oh and if you need anyt...

Re: Non A Family Engine Swaps

- I have a 2ZZ in my 2013 Corolla Hatch and it is fantastic fun, zero issues and great economy. Even with the CVT transmission! (sport mode and auto retards timing in hard shifts etc) - I have seen multiple 4efte (starlet galanza?) swaps into AE82 Hatches, some of the local chaps said the original 4...

Re: Spoilt for engine choice! (4afe vs 4age vs 7afe vs 7age frankenmotor)

Im leaning towards 7afe primarily due to the LACK of opportunity to spend $5000 on parts. The 4age is a money pit, lots of fun, but after adding up all the items needed, it really will cost a hell of alot more than the entire vehicle will ever be worth. 7afe with ITB's and Haltech (here in Aus, they...

Spoilt for engine choice! (4afe vs 4age vs 7afe vs 7age frankenmotor)

Hi all, Recently I have aquired a semi-tidy 85 SR5 tercel, it is light green, as seen in some of the japanese brochures. (SR5 with no aircon or power steer...) It has a rather tired 3A I have over 20 years of car tinkering, built a few fun toys For most of that time Ive been keen on doing a 4age bui...

Re: 2nd Gen 4A-FE Swap

Hey Kozuto Nice info. I am also interested in an engine swap in the future. (later gen 7afe due to availability here) I have seen a few very interesting ideas online over the years but nothing in person. I have owned an AE95r (Corolla All-trac Wagon) with the 4afe and it was very very solid. It surv...
