Re: Australian sales brochure
I believe you for sure. It is clear the marketing is for the Tercel.
I think i was vague in mentioning there was a time when the Carib was imported as a complete vehicle, but that was when the local assembly plant wasn't putting together the 'complete knock down' kits from Japan.

Or even a 'new' bottom end conversion like a 4afe from a Chevy Nova / Toyo Corolla and put a 4ac head on it (retain carb, SOHC, ultra simple)

Re: Australian sales brochure
Im certain it was never marketed in NZ, they would have just imported the JDM 'AL25 Sprinter Carib AV-11'
NZ had heaps of great JDM imports that Aus never got.

Re: New Head Gasket Time
So to male it clear do you still have a 3A bottom end or a 4A bottom end?
have you surgically cleaned the head bolt threads holes out? including cleaning the bolts?
Ive borked a two separate engine jobs by not doing this, the old torque wrench was out of calibration too (it read under the correct ...

Re: Fuel Pump Failure
I thought of going electric too, I just dont want some noisey low pressure zinger that makes a racket like if seen in previous carb fed projects.

Re: Fuel Pump Failure
My pump is leaking and I am here to check if its rebuildable or should I just replace it?
I have a 1984 (early) version. (medium-spec SR5 without A/C and steel rims instead of alloys etc)
I will be installing another engine in the future and was hoping the new fuel pump will be fine to feed a 4AC ...

Re: When should I replace shock Spring Coils ?
Just a few items Im looking at on ebay currently:
So many re-sellers buying these parts and adding ridiculous mark-ups....
I'd imagine Webco shocks are for budget conscious home mechanics, perhaps a good torture test will document how they last after a while.
