Re: 3A-C Engine Core & 15" steel wheels

Wish you weren't so far away! I'd definitely grab the engine from you. Hopefully it finds a good home!

Hard starting in the cold.

Hey guys, so far this winter my 85 Tercel has been starting fairly easily. Usually takes a few pumps of the pedal and on the 3rd crank she will fire up. But as of the past few days it's been a real pain to start her. This morning I had to crank it for about 5 hard minutes before it slowly sputtered ...

Interesting video of various car undercoating tests

Found this video of a YouTuber performing tests on common automotive undercoatings. Curious what you guys think? I personally used a costing that concrete guys spray on their panels in the winter time to prevent them from sticking. Weather or not it's efficient this year I don't know. I do think I'l...

I have a busted one if you're interested. The lower tab is broken off. I broke it when pulling my head. It was only a few weeks old.

Adjusting Weber for large elevation changes?

Hey guys, I am taking Spud with 3 dudes and a load of spare parts and camping gear out to Colorado and driving through the rocky mountains this summer. The trip will be about 3,500 or so miles. My car is currently tuned pretty well for where I live. Which is 800 feet above elevation. Looking into my...

Re: Oh Boy! What a deal!

It's very possible! I would check out places like auctions.yahoo(dot)co.jp Takeshi did say it was a rare option, but I would assume there's parts somewhere. Possibly even at partsouq dot com? Edit: I searched partsouq and didn't see in any of the Sprinter Carib AL25 pages any sort of adjustable susp...

Re: Spud is going on another adventure!

That's awesome!
Thanks to your help, that is what I did to get spud home! It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to have more road trip stories with this car. I'm going to plan on doing a little body work on it this spring to keep it from rotting away.

Re: Oh Boy! What a deal!

I wonder what special bits the JDM versions got that we didn't. Anything I should be scouring eBay for? Some versions had variable suspension height systems. (similar to my Celsior) they definitely had fancier interiors. I don't know all of the various editions Japan got over ours, other than findi...

Re: Oh Boy! What a deal!

Would be kind of cool, but not for that price. I do hope to one day pick up a RHD Tercel with a 5spd! There's a company near me that said they would help me source one. I also may sign up and pay the hefty price and be able to bid on them online. There was one that sold late August/early September o...

Re: Isolate front brakes?

You could always get a brake line fitting and bring it to the hardware store and find a pipe plug that's the same thread and do that for the time being. Obviously that'll depend on the thoroughness of the inspection. (I have never experienced them so sorry if that's a stupid solution) That being sai...

I'll definitely update this thread when the trip happens with a few pictures!
That's definitely a lot of daily driving though! How many miles does your Tercel have?
I have heard about a member having one with over 600,000 miles?

I'll take the seats and lower dash panel if you can hold them until July! 🤠
Hope the new Tercel project is going well!

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?

Rebalances driveshaft! The old driveshaft was pretty banged up. The joints made a ton of noise and we definitely in need of being replaced. As the car is my primary driver, I only had one option to remove it at my work. Thankfully the bosses were gone for the week 🤠 The rear portion of the driveshaf...

Spud is going on another adventure!

For those of you who are unaware. I took my Tercel4wd on a long road trip with an organization called Lemons Rally. "Spud" (as the previous owners named it) went on a 3,000+ mile road trip from Bangor Michigan to Bangor Maine and back over the course of 6 days. It was a long and brutal trip for this...

Re: Leaky front end

If anyone is interested in making a batch of seal driving tools, I'd be willing to purchase one. I repalced my seal twice and have had continual leaks. I feel like I am definitely driving it in deeper than .3 inches.
