Re: Brake Up-grades MR2 Parts Vented Rotors Corolla Spacer Figs

Well, I just finished with mine. Car stops like brand new! I couldn't believe how much of an upgrade this is! I did notice I heard some on and off grinding when driving. I decided to pop the wheels off when I got home and found what appears to be my Golf rotor rubbing on the outer inside of my new c...

Re: Another rescued T4WD

Well, the honest answer for the part out or restore question is both. Haha. I'm going to swap a few of the parts and pieces that are nicer than the ones on the 86 to help my "restoration" of that car along. I would ideally like to find a trans for it, get it installed with a new clutch. Put the slig...

Another rescued T4WD

Found this 1983 a few days ago. Managed to pick it up today. It's unfortunately missing the seats, the clinometer and has a bad transmission. The body is fairly solid and the engine looks really clean. It's a non power steering, non AC car. Car originally came from Oregon and has a Oregon title. Unf...

This car has been pretty well stripped. The odometer has less than 80,000. Someone removed the transmission in order to swap some parts to rebuild an automatic.

Sad story it was even in the junkyard but at least the clean parts got salvaged.

I wish I could fly out there and combine the two and make an epic 1,400 mile road trip home. This type of setup is the cars I crave.

Re: Two recently rescued Tercel4wd cars.

All the glass and almost everything salvageable has been removed. Some of the seatbelts have been chewed up by mice or the brackets are very very rusty so those were left behind. Along with the hatch latch but that's about it.

Re: Two recently rescued Tercel4wd cars.

It's sad it's unable to be saved. But at least we're getting salvageable parts off it! Ha! anything can be saved, the real question is all the effort worth it. considering you can still find good one out west, a trip to bring one home from another state is far less costly and time consuming than re...

Re: Two recently rescued Tercel4wd cars.

You aint seen nuthin! The Icehawk already had some fishing holes before the project started. This got treated with a sheet of 304 stainless that I might cut out for reuse. 20191207_165717.jpg [/quote] Oof! That's pretty crusty! Unfortunately this cars control arms completely broke off during the unl...

Re: Two recently rescued Tercel4wd cars.

Great story. The rust on the two-tone one is incredible. Working on this kind of stuff is a great way to spend time right now. I completely agree! It's been a great experience over these past few weeks. Unfortunately I'm going back to working 5 days on Monday. So the free time for this project will...

Nice work! Hope I live long enough to be that old guy with T4 yard ornaments.
Same here. I also hope if I make it to that point, two more people show up and ask to buy them. The story that car could tell if it survives to that point! 8)

Re: Two recently rescued Tercel4wd cars.

Haha yes! We were excited to finally track them down. We ended up splitting the cars up since my 85 would use the same components as the 86, I got that one. He wanted the 83 (rusty car) anyway because of his transmission fitting that one. He unfortunately said he didn't want to sell the transmission...

Two recently rescued Tercel4wd cars.

Hello all, I would love to share with you the craziness that is the past few weeks for me. My friend Alex, who has a 1984 Tercel4wd and lives relatively close to me. Sent me this photo he had received from a mutual friend. received_681197002632838.jpeg After a bit of talking, he got an approximate l...

If someone from Japan is on here, I would love for them to source me a manual transmission Sprinter Carib RV-II
I would pay handsomely! :D

Re: Adjusting Weber for large elevation changes?

we added a fuel line onto the unused side of my weber's "t" just before the carb, and had a hand pump and pony tank (our "Icarus tank") to manually add fuel into the carb. You've intrigued me with this information. Recently I installed an electronic fuel pump to try and help.with my horrible no sta...

Re: New to the board need parts

There's a for sale section of the forum! I think you'll have more luck there.
Also, if you haven't yet. Search car-part.com. It searches several junkyards in the area of whatever postal code you enter! You may find something nearby to your home!
