Re: Brake booster issues?
I've had a similar issue before where there were constantly tiny bubbles when trying to bleed the brakes after changing the wheel cylinders. I went through about 2 1/2 bottles of fluid, and there was still air. It turned out to be the tapered threads on one of the hoses was just worn enough to let ...

Re: Brake booster issues?
it really sounds like the master is bad. I had this exact same problem with a brand new master cylinder. kept pumping bubbles out the wheel bleeders no matter how much we pumped it. I took it out and bench bled it and also got bubbles, so back to the store it went. the replacement bled out and it p...

Brake booster issues?
Thought I would ask here. Picked up an '86 t4wd from a buddy of mine a few months back. When I got the car, the brakes felt fine, no issue. I replaced the pads, shoes, wheel cylinders, rubber lines, etc. Basic brake overhaul. I noticed when I was bleeding the brakes, the stream would be solid then s...

Re: Two 1983 Wagons SR5 4WD at Claxton, GA Pull-A-Part
For clarity, Elite Recycling does have a Pull-A-Part lot onsite AND a scrap metal operation. These two wagons are on the Pull-A-Part lot. Check out their facebook page. And thank you Chris and dlb for your comments. Susan I called them today. One has already been crushed and the other is due to be ...

Re: Two 1983 Wagons SR5 4WD at Claxton, GA Pull-A-Part
and also, was it sent to the recycling center or scrap yard? cause elite recycling appears to be a metal scrapper, not a junk yard...

Re: Two 1983 Wagons SR5 4WD at Claxton, GA Pull-A-Part
why did you immediately send them to the junk yard instead of offering parts off them?

Re: HELP - Siblings Tercel busted transmission
thanks irowiki for the info and links! xiredneh - from pictures and diagrams it looks like the tranny and front transfer unit are in one housing, not separate. you say you can replace tranny only so i'm confused by your wording. I have a 2wd and a 4wd trans sitting in my garage. While I havent ever...

Re: Estimated value?
Also, if the price is like $500 i would fly down in a heartbeat and buy this. I have 2 first gens ('81 2dr 7age swap and '82 4dr) currently, but this one would replace the 4dr as it already has a serious case of cancer :/ I didn't realize you had swapped a 7age into one of these. That's awesome. Ha...

Re: Estimated value?
I just looked up the color codes and they did exist after all. I've just never seen one. So my comment about the non-original color doesn't count anymore. As for the dent, the fender is probably the best place to have a dent since it's removable and replaceable. The charging issue doesn't sound lik...

Re: Estimated value?
I'm biased since I'm a big fan of the 1st gens. Especially the hatchback version. A downside for me is the aftermarket paint job. I prefer these old cars in their original colours. I think a reasonable price would be $1500-$3000 (that's Canadian. Minus about 25% for US dollars). Of course this woul...

Also what makes the charging system fried? If you said you'd take $500 for it I'd be heavily tempted to buy it...

Re: Estimated value?
Is there a guide anywhere that can help determine the value of my car? It's not a 4wd but it's an '82 Tercel SR5 Hatchback. It's got about 136k original miles and is in fair shape. Needs body work (mostly paint and one dent. No frame damage) and its charging system is currently fried. Other than th...

My roommate sent these in and let me choose one of them for my bday. I picked the purple one! For what they are, they're fairly detailed and have legit suspension haha
