Re: give it gas but no responce
Same symptoms have happened to me on my suburban when the fuel pump was going bad, or more recently, when I was almost out of gas and cornering. So it does sound like a fuel supply problem to me. Ignition is either igniting or not, right?

Re: Water outlet housing needed
This is the piece. I've jb welded it back together but I don't like the potential durability of the fix long term.

Water outlet housing needed
Anyone have a spare water outlet housing they could sell me? I cracked mine today because I'm apparently a hamfisted moron.

Re: 1984 FWD abused
I don't have the 4WD either. Mine is the hatchback version so I don't even have the wagon! The folks on this forum have never once held that against me or made me feel like my questions or car weren't worth helping. Seriously, you'll be hard pressed to find a more welcoming and helpful group of peop...

Re: Brake line repair and misc.
Also, the brake light comes on when fluid is low. There is a sensor in the master cylinder cap. The fact that you're working on a brake line suggests you may have a low fluid situation.

Re: Charcoal canister removal?
You need some sort of vent for the fuel tank. Without the charcoal canister, it will just dump fumes wherever you route the hose. In practice it may not be a big deal but be aware you may small gas from time to time. Make sure you plug any vacuum lines leading to it.

Re: I got a U.B.W. UNIDENTIFIED BROKEN WIRE
It was probably a wire that a previous owner added to operate an aftermarket accessory of some sort. Are you having an issue that you think is caused by this wire? If not, I would just leave it alone.

Re: Idle issues?
We use an industrial ultrasonic parts washer at work using basically hot soapy water. Amazing how clean things get in just a short amount of time.

Re: Idle issues?
It was cleaned rather nicely when it went through the laundry in the pocket of my car "work" pants. Just do not let your wife catch you intentionally cleaning auto parts this way. That's a good trick! I've used the dishwasher to clean parts before in the middle of the night when my wife w...

Well we have it very easy here all things considered. Lots of food, water, power, heat and most importantly coffee. Family is hunkered down and ready to ride this thing out.

Re: lost a wheel at 70 mph!
That happened to me when I was a young dumb teenager who forgot to tighten my lug nuts after changing the brakes. Front drivers wheels had been making a god awful noise after I changed the brakes but I chalked it up to me just messing it up. All of a sudden the noise went away and I thought all was ...

Re: Need Help in Austin TX
While I don't doubt the car is at least that valuable in parts, don't be surprised if you get nowhere near that in scrap. Metal prices are down and full size trucks are going for less than $250 here on the east coast.
