Re: Tercel 4wd parts car WTB.
I just want to be clear that i have no desire to hack up a good T4wd... if i could find a good one I'd be happy to keep it as my driver with minimal mods. Problem is, especially in the area where i live, not many of these cars have survived without absolutely catastrophic rust. The hatch i have now ...

Re: Tercel 4wd parts car WTB.
The game plan is to go for some heavy chassis modification. Street legality is not really an issue. I mainly need the tranny/transfer case so i can continue to run my 3A and the rear end.

Re: how did you first meet/start digging tercs?
My first car was a yellow 81 tercel sedan (my vote for nicest looking tercel of all time)... but the first car i ever drove (age 10 or so) was an 85 T4. I forget the details but it was a grey automatic. My dad let me drive it up a logging road (under his strict supervision) and i poked a hole in the ...

Re: New guy from Victoria
I Wouldn't be at all surprised if there's 800 people living on that island on a more or less permanent basis. There's many urban type people who have gone over there with there millions to build massive waterfront homes on the rocky beaches... and then there's the original full time islanders. I don ...

Re: New guy from Victoria
I guess you'd say it's in the Sailish Sea which received it's current name for the 2010 olympics in Vancouver. Confusingly the island is referred to as being part of the "Northern Gulf Islands" (The Sailish Sea used to be Strait of Georgia which used to be the Gulf of Georgia back in the old days ...

Re: New guy from Victoria
Lasqueti Island certainly is an interesting place. There is a fairly extensive road network on the island, though the only pavement is the incredibly steep hill right at the dock. Vehicles must be transported to and from the island by private tug & barge, at no small expense. That's why there's some ...

Re: New guy from Victoria
I've done a bit of construction work over on Lasqueti. It's basically treated like a private island so you have to step carefully over there. I know there's an 85 auto that's pretty beat up and a couple others I haven't got close enough to ID. I Have to go back out and find out more about the west ...

Re: How to raise a Tercels suspension?
Sorry that's just my lazy canadian terminology. That's what i meant... 4 wheel drive. My family background is Norwegian so i'm always interested in things going on over there. Have you had any luck in your search? There's gotta be some other springs that fit the rear end.

Re: New guy from Victoria
Thanks i'm always poking around on the web but i rarely search in victoria. I know where there's a couple over on Lasqueti Island but it's a couple hundred bucks just to get them to the big island. Also out in Ucluelet there's a few of them in a yard with moss growing in the drip rails. I'm hoping i ...

Re: The Successor to the Tercel SR5 4WD
I live in a school bus so my 83 hatchback is my guest cabin. It gets used on a regular basis without complaint.
I don't think that we'll see any kind of 'successor' to the t4 wagon. It's unfortunate but true that there will never be anything quite like it again. It's not that it isn't a really ...

Re: Selling a 1986 SR5 Wagon: seeking advice
Don't sell it! I doubt you'd find a safer vehicle. Airbags are deadly and fail more often than they work. The folks on here will help you keep your wagon alive and healthy if you so desire.
