I can't imagine what the shipping prices to Canada on a set of fenders would be... I'll bet it's big bucks though...
LOL, you could almost drive down here with a hauler and drag it back to Canada for that kind of coin (realistically not...).
Got too busy last week, and this week looks even busier ...

Re: 1985 Tercel SR5 4wd 5-speed
EVERYTHING works on this car except the transmission, A/C, and cruise control.
The Weber carburetor does not have the provisions for the cruise control, and the a/c needs a pump or clutch, but it's all there.
I believe there is a shift fork bent or broken in the transmission, as it will not move ...

I don't know what you're talking about.

come get it for spare parts, or put you good tranny in it drive it tow work every day.
It's a good car, just needs a transmission.

No Rust. Has some minor surface rust near pass side rear window due to paint peeling, but will clean up easy. No Rust means no ROT. This has been a Tn car it's whole life.
Burns nor leaks any oil.
has a/c and cruise, though they are not hooked up.
Weber 32/36 carb
tuned up, runs like a champ ...

Re: Need Transmission 1985 5-speed 4wd Wagon
I'll likely part it out as finding a tranny is becoming difficult, and cost prohibitive.
Too bad since it's such a nice ride. Burns no oil, everything works, and is clean, no rust. And the kid likes it...
Wish there were more of them around so parts weren't so hard to find!

Need Transmission 1985 5-speed 4wd Wagon
I'm in Middle TN.
The tranny really took a dive today on my sons way home from school.
It won't move... put it in gear, let out the clutch and it goes BANG! Jumps outta gear, and kills the motor. Reverse is the same way....
I need the kid to have a car to get to school and back...
Let me know ...

Weber DG32/36 Questions
I know... yet another one...
I got a used carb from our favorite online auction site. Turned out to be a nice piece.
Installed it on the car (85 4wd SR5 wagon/5-speed) and it runs good. WAAAAAAY better than the worn out Aisian thingy.
No more stumbling, no more hesitation, no more erratic idle ...

Re: Intermittent Overheating Issue
I'll score another thermostat then.
The one I bought was a cheepo from AutoZone.
We don't have a NAPA local, so maybe CarQuest or other independant parts house, as I have a feeling Advance and O'Reilly's are the same ol stuff as AutoZone...
I still have the original radiator cap, and it does the ...

Intermittent Overheating Issue
Hey Fellas!
I've got a 1985 4WD Tercel Wagon that sometimes likes to overheat.
It all started with replacing the front crankshaft seal. Everything was fine then. Of course had to remove the radiator to do the job swapping the seal. Got it all back together and it was ok for awhile, and then ...

Re: Way Stuupid Question...
it looks OEM to me.

there are no fog lights on it... unless the lens' that are right next to the headlights are fogs... never seen them come on though

Way Stuupid Question...
What is the button on the console near the 4wd shifter for on my 85 4wd Manual shift Tercel for? The lettering or symbol is worn off, and I can't tell that the switch does anything at all... it's a 3 position rocker switch.
Is it a low range selector switch? Do these thing even have low range?

Re: 1985 4WD Tercel SR5 For Sale
Got this little dude running good today... a 34$ fuel pump and 15$ of vacuum line and it's good to go.
Fawkin aye Batman! There's more than 12ft of vacuum hose on these little buggers!. I bought 12ft, and need about 6 more! I replaced all hoses since it wouldn't idle well below 1200rpm.

Re: 1985 4WD Tercel SR5 For Sale
...no offense taken. I really hadn't done the homework to really know the value. I asked around in this forum a couple months back and 1k was what was suggested.
I think I could get more than that parting it out maybe, I just don't really have the time to do it. And I don't have $500 to put into it ...

Re: 1985 4WD Tercel SR5 For Sale
I should note as well the car is a manual 5 speed, and has spent it's whole life in TN.
My father in law drove this daily up until he replaced the clutch. Just after he finished the clutch install, he fell ill and passed on. Great daily driver. It's only got about 50 miles on the new clutch.
