That is definitely an 88-89 Toyota 4AFE bottom end. I recognize the block as being an 87+ 4a block (7 ribs). The crank has 6 bolts for the flywheel which means it is a 4afe. The 4ages had a 8 bolt crank.

Anyhow, either way that is a smokin good deal.

Your 3ac head WILL bolt onto this block. Your 3ac flywheel WILL bolt onto this crank. This block WILL bolt up to the tercel bell housing.

However, I'm not sure about the 3AC engine mounts, and not sure what you would use for an oil pan (what will fit both the block and into the tercel). I'm about 95% sure that it'll work just fine though.

You MAY have interference problems between your 3AC valves and the 4AFE pistons. They may not touch normally, but if your timing belt went, I'm pretty certain they would interfere. The fly cuts in the 4AFE pistons are for a 16V head, not an 8V head.

Also, I'm not 100% sure about matching the 3AC waterpump and oilpump to that block. I believe they are bolt on, but again, not totally sure.

For that price, it's probably worth a try.

Good luck!

Actually there was for sure a 4age in the Geo Prizm GSI. The 88-89 had the large port TVIS 4age, and the 90-92 had the small port high comp 4age. The non GSI models had the 4afe.

You would need to reuse the oil pan and the pickup the mount would fit 80 percent sure on the mounts. If you reuse the tercel head it will save a tone of fitment headaches.
