Welcome to the list!

I would go with the 4a head gasket, everything else should align okay. I thought the aftermarket head gaskets were the same, but I never compared them. I suggest doing the mods and follow the procedure for my head gasket installation over in the repair guides section. Here: https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6059

How did you crack the head on your Toyota? I have really badly abused and overheated my 3a head a number of times, but I never cracked it. I did warp it badly, but it was still able to be resurfaced and the cam bore had to be redone to align it.

that's odd because according to this guy from the 4ac-powered forum, the 3a and 4a heads are the same except for the valve cover so the head gasket should be the same. check out his post.

if the part #s are different, they must be different though. pretty weird.
