Howdy friends.....my sweet little beast has a bit of a hesitation in 2nd / 3rd gears especially.... like it's going to conk out momentarily, then it keeps going... i've replaced the fuel filter/pump and had the intake valve on the carb replaced....any ideas?

Have the dist thoroughly tested. My dist problems caused massive hesitation (and random dying)
Turned out I had a few issues;
Bad coil
No Mechanical Advance
Glitchty vacuum advance
A bad lead wire
RIP 10-07- 1984 Toyota Tercel SR5 4wd Wagen 6 speed

1st Terc- 1987 Tercel SR5 4wd Wagon 6-speed, Sadly cubed

Try plugging the vac line at the EGR to see if this stops it...if it does, then something controlling the EGR is a fault (vac modulator?)...or the EGR.
