welcome to the list!

Any reason why you are year specific? Clean good running Tercel4wd are getting rare, and amount you have to pay for them is rising. Do you have a purchase price range in mind? What part of the country to you live? If that is Oakland CA, you had better stay with California cars or you will likely have trouble getting to pass emissions.

If you want to go with an '85 or later manual trans you will need to swap out the rear gear set also.

i wouldn't consider doing an a/t to m/t conversion without at least having access to a pretty complete donor vehicle. never done a tercel wagon (although if i can get my hands on an '87 4wd a/t wagon i've been "stalking" for the last 4 years or so that will change.) i have however in years past done an MB 190c and a renault encore- both with complete donor vehicles. you won't know how much you're going to need till you get into it (flywheel, clutch ass'y, transaxle ass'y, pedal ass'y, shifter ass'y, driveshaft, console ass'y, previously mentioned rear gearset and countless other bits and pieces.) think i read even the exhaust is different and possibly the engine ECU. good luck- keep us posted!
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!

85 SR5 Blue
88 SR5 White (the 'good' one)-not anymore-totaled
87 fwd silver wagon a/t
87 4wd dx Cream (a/t- not anymore- now m/t)

Inactive member fingers did an AT to MT switch back in 2005 or 2006. He made
a pretty complete writeup on it. Possibly someone else did as well, but I just do not recall. I think fingers' thread is in Repair Guides.

Yes, I have found the 6-Speed tranny from the same year car. Apparently it was a rare option, as there was only 2 tranny's in the country. I also bought a 4AGE 20V engine to bolt up to the new tranny, as I was told any 4AGE will bolt up to any '85 Tercel (Auto or Manual). What should I use for induction? Carb kit or a Stand alone with the 4 throttle bodies? Headers? Anyone know what parts I need to finish the job would be helpful.

Thanks!
