My tercel:: 1985 toyota tercel sr5 4wd

HELP !!!!!!!!!!

i stated in a post earlier my 1985 tota sr5 tercel wagon "manual trans " lost fwd rears still turn but fwd doesnt i am assuming its the ring and pinion if so .... WHAT SIZE RING AND PINION CAME IN THE 1985 TOYOTA SR5 4WD WAGON

4.1 or 4.11:1 for '85 and on, prior to that 3.9:1

The '85 should have the 6" dia 4.10:1 ring and pinion set. there is some that think the early '85 model year has the 3.73:1 (like the '83-84), but I have never seen that.

Could also be a busted front output shaft, or spider gears. You should pull the front cover to see, easy access. Usually if you trash a ring and pinon gear set, it makes a lot of really bad noises and you really can not drive it.

I would not buy anything until you know what is broken, if it is the output shaft you might as well get a whole transaxle and be done with it. Faster swap out.
