You can get aftermarket fenders through auto parts stores or over the internet, which actually might be a better option considering the quality of the OE sheet metal. Prices are actually pretty reasonable if you shop around, some places are ~$50. Of course that's just primed and unpainted.

I've heard that getting the 4WD fenders aftermarket can be tough, whats usually available is the FWD fenders, and so sometimes people get two new fenders and swap the rest out to a FWD front end. You can probably modify the light opening with sheet metal or the front part of the old fender to fit the 4WD corner light, though.

You might also try local body shops, they could have a source or even order one in for you, but their price may be steep if they charge the shop markup.

How are 2WD and 4WD fenders dissimilar? The '86 showroom catalog I have shows similar front fenders, and the EPC catalog in the Parts Forum shows the same part numbers, regardless of the drive - and regardless of the body style. The left, for example, is #53802-16260 on all years and styles of the Gen II sedans/wagons?

I've heard of people with early model 4WD wagons with the sealed beams and smaller amber corner light that couldn't get the OE 4WD fenders to let them use the early style front end, and wound up having to throw the FWD front plastic and headlights/corners on with the new fenders. Apparently the mounting points were the same to bolt the fenders on, but either the headlight housing or corner light didn't play well with the fenders somehow. Of course this isn't the case with the later wagons that had plastic lamps and clear corners with amber reflectors, the fenders are the same all around, just like the other T4WDs/FWDs around the world.

I think the fenders from the 2wd sedan will also fit any of the wagons.
